An Ambu Bag (Manual Resuscitator) is a hand-held device used to provide positive-pressure ventilation to patients who are not breathing or not breathing adequately. It is commonly used in ambulances, hospitals, emergency rooms, ICUs, operation theatres and during CPR.
The device consists of a self-inflating silicone/ PVC bag, oxygen reservoir, one-way non-rebreathing valve and a face mask. When the bag is squeezed, it delivers air or oxygen into the patient’s lungs, helping maintain adequate ventilation until advanced airway support is available.
