The SOMI Cervical Brace is a rigid cervico-thoracic orthosis designed to provide immobilisation and alignment support for the lower cervical spine and upper thoracic region. It features a chest (eternal) plate, mandible/chin support, and occidental (back of head) support, connected via metal or aluminium uprights and straps that cross over the shoulders.
With carefully designed attachments, the brace helps restrict movement of the neck in flexion, extension, lateral bending and rotation—thereby stabilizing the cervical region during post-trauma recovery, post-operative phases or in minimally unstable fractures.
It is suitable for patients who require more control than a standard cervical collar but less than a full halo brace—offering a balance of support and comfort.
